🏠Loot the Loop
Loot the Loop is designed by Wilhelm Su, one of ten solitaire games in his Isaludo collection which also includes Skyway.
There's a YouTube demonstration courtesy of Totally Tabled.
Whereas in the original game the adventurer's position is the top of the deck, I'm using the fedora counter which starts in the top left corner and moves clockwise. I've made this a hybrid board/card game by including an 8x8 grid — creating initially 11 more spaces than the standard 52-card deck plus joker, and the gap increases as the game progresses. Please ignore these when looping the deck of cards which represents the Temple of the Sun in this game.
Suits don't matter in this game, so I'm just superimposing the values of numeric cards on the dungeon tiles. Royal cards represent traps which end the game if they can't be jumped over. The object of the game is to collect all four jewels (aces), and the joker is the temple's exit shown by the door icon.
Numbers are Multi-Use Cards. One use of them is to randomize the number of spaces your adventurer can move. Which number cards are available to play in a turn I've colored green. They are a number your counter is on, the space in front, or one of up to three number cards taken as notes. A number previously taken as a note can be moved to the adventurer's space on the grid and then used to move.
If you land on a face-up number card, it gets added to the trinkets pile, meaning the temple becomes more dense with traps as the game progresses.
If your adventurer has no numbers available at the start of a turn, you lose.
