🏠Island of Cards
This is a solitaire tile-laying game designed for a standard deck of cards by Wildcard Six. Its rules are available courtesy of Boardgame Geek.
There's a YouTube video explaining the rules courtesy Board Games with Thomas.
The goal is to fill a 7x7 grid with an initial X filled in randomly from the deck. Each turn, a card is drawn from the deck which can be placed on any vacant space provided it meets these two rules:
- It must be orthogonally next to a card one value higher or lower. An ace counts for one next to a two, and 14 next to a king.
- No neihbouring card, including diagonally, may have the same value.
If there is no legal placement, a card gets discarded, and the number of discards at the end of the game gets subtracted from the final score.
Victory is filling in all 49 spaces. Your final score is the number cards placed up to 49, plus any cards still in the draw deck minus discards.
